September 11, 2010

Today is September 11th.  We are in Washington D.C., the city of democracy.  The city that stands for all that this country was built upon and all that we believe in.  We have spent the last three days immersed in the history of the struggles our forefathers experienced in order to bring this country to what it is today.  A country where we have the freedom to say what we think and act as we will.  Nine years ago today that freedom was threatened and over 3,000 people lost their lives.  It did not break us and we did not fall.  We came out stronger and more resolved than ever.

We spent today quietly, thinking of those who lost their lives on that tragic day, nine years ago. Our thoughts and prayers were also with those Americans who are risking their lives every day, fighting for the freedom that we must never take for granted.  Our son-in-law will be deployed to Iraq at the end of this month and our prayers are with him.  Please keep him and all of our troops in your prayers as well.

God bless America.
